“An inspiring, uplifting, passionate, kind and giving teacher. You have a real gift and you make it a real gift to your students too. “ Julie W
My teaching is based on a wealth of yoga experience, gained from nearly 30 years of my own personal yoga practice and from the opportunities over those years to train with a wide range of teachers from a variety of traditions. In my own life, I’ve benefitted immeasurably from yoga’s power to transform.
Yoga can show you how to relax and to breathe more usefully. You can grow stronger, more toned and more flexible so that everyday activities become easier. It encourages a sense of well-being. And yoga is a spiritual practice which offers you the chance to experience profound peace and joy. Yoga is for everyone – whatever your age, whatever your fitness. Beginners are welcome.
For many of us, the yoga journey starts with us paying attention to our physical body and our breath, and continues and deepens as our awareness is refined each time we practice. Yoga releases tension in the body, gently relaxes, and then encourages you to tone and strengthen parts of your body that may be neglected. It helps you to notice and understand your patterns of movement and breathing and the ways of thinking and feeling that have become your habits. It provides you with the information you need to be able to change.
I have 7 years of teaching experience in the local area. I am a member of the British Wheel of Yoga, the biggest umbrella organisation for yoga in the UK, and I studied for 3 years to gain a diploma in teaching. In addition, I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a qualification specifically awarded for teaching adults.
